Candle Care Guide

To properly care for a candle, follow these steps:

  1. Trim the wick: Before lighting the candle, make sure to trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This will help the candle burn evenly and reduce excess carbon build up.

  2. Keep the candle level: Place the candle on a level, heat-resistant surface to prevent it from spilling or tipping over.

  3. Burn the candle for an adequate amount of time: The first time you light the candle, let it burn for approximately 4 hours to ensure that the candle reaches full melt pool (wax melts evenly across the surface). This will also prevent the candle from tunneling, where a hole forms in the center of the candle and the wax doesn't melt to the edges. Candles have memory, thus ensuring an adequate first burn will subsequently help your candle burn well.

  4. Avoid drafty and dusty areas: Candles should be burned in a draft-free area to prevent the flame from flickering.

  5. Keep the wax pool clear of debris: Make sure to remove any wick trimmings, matches, or other debris from the wax pool after each use.

  6. Store the candle properly: Keep candles away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and humidity to extend their lifespan. Store them in a cool, dry place until ready to use.

  7. Never leave your candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

By following these steps, you can help your candle burn cleanly and last longer.
